Where Learning is Fun
KG, or kindergarten, serves as the foundation of learning for young learners. All studies and research related to the early period
of development of a child, unambiguously lead to the conclusion that high-quality care and education during this period has a lifetime of positive consequences for all individuals and thus, the
nation. During this stage, children explore their creativity and develop across various domains, including physical, social, emotional, cultural, and intellectual. Most learning occurs through play, inspired by the Montessori method, which emphasises fun and engaging experiences that encourage exploration.
The quality of a KG school is determined primarily by the freedom offered to students, opportunities for self-exploration, and the individual attention given to assessing and celebrating their achievements.
The KG section at Rogationist Academy provides an excellent start for children aged three. Beginning with Pre-KG, the foundational program at Rogationist Academy extends up to the second standard for children aged 3 to 8. The facilities available for KG include a fully developed park designed to enhance fine and gross motor skills, a spacious playground, a pets park for natural exploration, an eco-friendly campus for nature activities, bright and colourful classrooms with dedicated areas for self-development and creativity, as well as English phonics courses starting from LKG.
The first eight years of a child’s life are truly critical and lay the foundation for lifelong well-being, and overall growth and development across all dimensions - physical, cognitive, andsocio-emotional.
Indeed, the pace of brain development in these years is more rapid than at any other stage of aperson’s life. Research from neuroscience informs us that over 85% of an individual’s brain development occurs by the age of 6, indicating the critical importance of appropriate care and stimulation in a child’s early years to promote sustained and healthy brain development and growth.
The most current research also demonstrates that children under the age of 8 tend not to follow linear, age-based educational trajectories. It is only at about the age of 8 that children begin to converge in their learning trajectories. Even after the age of 8, non-linearity and varied pace continue to be inherent characteristics of learning and development; however, up to the age of 8, thedifferences are so varied that it is effective to view the age of 8, on average, as a transition pointfrom one stage of learning to another. In particular, it is only at about the age of 8 that childrenbegin to adapt to more structured learning.
The homelike quality of our school contributes to a relaxed, focused experience for the child. Our indoor classroom activities are placed on open shelves for selection as interest and readiness inspire the child. Our outdoor environment offers a beautifully developed playground with manipulatives, tricycles, pets, and gardens to stimulate all domains of development.
The CBSE has set the age criteria based on the recommendations of the NEP and NCF. following the same principles at Rogationist academy, the age of the child seeking admission to Pre-KG should be 3 years as on 15 July of the year to which the admission is sought.
